Job Description

Investigative Accounting - Analyst - San Diego

Are you interested in the investigative nature of forensic accounting? A local mid-size firm is looking to add an Analyst to their team with experience in analytical, forensic accounting. As a member of this team, you will think outside the box to solve complex accounting issues related to legal cases. This role is a great way to transition out of audit; leave the month-end close behind and delve into complex financial projections that can ultimately influence the outcome of court cases.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform extensive financial analysis and modeling to quantify the economic impact of a court case
  • Work closely with clients from the onset of a dispute through the trial and appeal process
  • Provide damage analysis, business consulting, and accounting services to clients involved in dispute resolution, business management, and tax matters
  • Use your accounting background to resolve discrepancies and consult on client issues

What you’ll need:
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • CPA, CFE, or MBA preferred
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Experience working in Microsoft Access required
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude with excellent communication skills and professionalism
